Connect HubSpot

Connect HubSpot to Luciqo read-only to see which leads, customers and revenue came from AI assistants, and how to disconnect or uninstall.

10 minPlan: Pro and above

The Luciqo app for HubSpot reports your customer journey from first touch to revenue, with AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity shown as their own channel. Access is read-only, and Luciqo never stores contact names or email addresses.

Before you start

  • A Luciqo Pro or Agency plan, with the brand set up in Luciqo.
  • A HubSpot account, and a HubSpot user allowed to install apps (a super admin, or a user with App Marketplace access).

What Luciqo reads from HubSpot

Luciqo asks for these read-only permissions (scopes):

ScopeWhy
oauthTo connect your account
crm.objects.contacts.readTo read contacts and their first-touch and lifecycle data
crm.objects.deals.readTo read deal amounts and won or open status
crm.objects.companies.readTo read company size
crm.schemas.contacts.readTo list contact properties in the settings

Each sync reads contacts created in the period you choose next to Sync now (the last 6 months by default, up to 2 years), with their lifecycle stage and dates, original source fields, first page and referrer, industry, job title, country and deal fields. It also reads the deals and company linked to each contact, plus the Visitor ID and How did you hear about us? properties if you set them. Luciqo never writes to HubSpot.

What Luciqo stores

Luciqo stores only pseudonymised and aggregated journey data:

  • Each contact becomes an anonymous code, made with a one-way hash that only works for this brand. Emails are used in memory to make that code, then dropped.
  • Journey facts: first channel and source website, landing page path, lifecycle stage and dates, industry, company size band, job title, country, number of deals, and won and open deal value.
  • Free-text fields have anything that looks like an email address or phone number removed.

Luciqo never stores contact names, email addresses or phone numbers. Personal data stays in your HubSpot. Access keys are encrypted. From HubSpot's account details, Luciqo keeps only your portal ID and HubSpot domain. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

Connect HubSpot

  1. In Luciqo, open your brand and click Connections in the sidebar.
  2. On the HubSpot card, click Connect HubSpot.
  3. Sign in to HubSpot and choose the account to connect.
  4. Review the permissions and approve them.
  5. You return to Connections with the message "HubSpot connected." The card shows Connected, your account and Last sync.

The first sync starts straight away.

Optional settings

  1. "How did you hear about us?" property: pick the contact property that holds this answer, so Luciqo can count people who say they found you through AI. Leave it as None if you don't have one.
  2. Visitor ID property (optional): the internal name of the property holding the visitor ID. The default is visitor_id. Leave it empty if you don't link website visits to contacts.
  3. Click Save settings. They're used from the next sync.

To link website visits to contacts, create a single-line text contact property called Visitor ID (internal name visitor_id), add it as a hidden field on your forms, and add the Luciqo snippet to your website after your Matomo tracking code. This works with Matomo connected to Luciqo; the full steps are in Connect Matomo. Google Analytics doesn't share individual visitor IDs with other tools, so with Google Analytics Luciqo uses HubSpot's own first-touch source for each contact instead.

Sync your data

  • Each sync saves a dated snapshot under Data pulls, showing contacts, leads, customers and won revenue.
  • All active connections refresh automatically every Monday.
  • Click Sync now to refresh at any time. You can't start one while another is running, or within 10 minutes of the last one.
  • Very large accounts are read up to a limit per sync. The pull is then marked as partial.

Disconnect in Luciqo

  1. On the HubSpot card, click Disconnect and confirm.
  2. Luciqo deletes its stored HubSpot access keys and stops syncing. Past data pulls stay, as they hold no personal data.
  3. To delete that data too, click Delete all HubSpot data under Data pulls, or Delete next to a single pull, then Yes, delete.

Uninstall the app from HubSpot

Disconnecting in Luciqo stops Luciqo using your account. To remove the app from HubSpot as well:

  1. In HubSpot, click the settings icon in the top navigation.
  2. In the left sidebar, go to Integrations, then Connected apps.
  3. Find Luciqo, click Actions, then Uninstall.
  4. Confirm the uninstall.

If you uninstall in HubSpot first, Luciqo's next sync can't reach HubSpot and the card shows Needs attention. Click Disconnect in Luciqo to remove the stored keys, and delete the data if you want to.

Troubleshooting

  • "HubSpot rejected the connection": disconnect, then connect HubSpot again.
  • "HubSpot didn't give Luciqo permission to read this data": connect again and approve every permission.
  • "HubSpot is limiting requests right now": wait a few minutes, then click Sync now.
  • "The HubSpot sign-in link expired": click Connect HubSpot again.
