Connect Power BI
Load your clients' Luciqo data into Power BI Desktop or Excel with the Agency API, and keep it fresh with a scheduled refresh.
10 minPlan: Agency plan
With the Agency API you can load Luciqo data straight into Power BI and build your own dashboards: AI visibility trends, results by question, channels to revenue, reputation and content. Power BI reads the CSV version of each endpoint, so every endpoint arrives as a ready-made table.
Before you start
- An Agency plan.
- Power BI Desktop, or Excel for the Excel steps.
- An API key from the Agency API page. See Agency API for how to create one. Make one key just for Power BI, and limit it to one brand if the report is for a single client.
Find the addresses you need
- In Luciqo, click Agency API in the sidebar.
- Under What you can read, click Copy address next to
GET /api/v1/brands. - Open that address in Power BI first (steps below) to get your brand IDs.
- For each table you want, copy the endpoint's address and replace
{id}with the brand ID. - Add
?format=csvto the end, or&format=csvif the address already has a?, such as the channels address.
For example, the channels for the last 90 days, as CSV:
https://your-luciqo-address/api/v1/brands/BRAND-ID/channels?days=90&format=csv
Replace https://your-luciqo-address with the address you copied from the Agency API page.
Load the data in Power BI Desktop
- In Power BI Desktop, click Get data, then Web.
- Choose Advanced.
- In the URL field, paste the address, ending in
format=csv. - Under HTTP request headers, add
Authorizationwith the valueBearer your-key, using your API key. - Click OK, then Load.
- Repeat for each table you need, such as
visibility,questionsandchannels.
Which table to load
| Address | One row per |
|---|---|
/api/v1/brands | Brand |
/api/v1/brands/{id}/visibility | Analysis, for trend charts |
/api/v1/brands/{id}/questions | Question and AI engine in the latest analysis |
/api/v1/brands/{id}/channels?days=90 | Channel |
/api/v1/brands/{id}/reputation | Part of the reputation score |
/api/v1/brands/{id}/content | GEO Writer piece |
For channels, days can be 7, 30, 90, 180, 365 or all.
Keep it up to date
- Publish the report to the Power BI service.
- Set a scheduled refresh for the dataset.
Each refresh calls Luciqo again and picks up the latest analysis and data pull. Weekly or daily refreshes are plenty: Luciqo analyses run weekly when automatic tracking is on, and connected data refreshes every Monday. Each key allows up to 120 requests a minute, so even a report with many tables refreshes comfortably.
If your tool can't send headers
Some set-ups can't add an Authorization header. In that case, add the key to the address instead: &key=your-key (or ?key=your-key if there's no ? yet). Treat such links like passwords, because anyone with the address can read the data. Revoke the key on the Agency API page if it's ever shared by mistake.
Excel
Excel works the same way:
- In Excel, go to Data, then From Web.
- Choose Advanced, paste the CSV address, and add the
Authorizationheader withBearer your-key. - Click OK, then Load.
Use Refresh in Excel to update the data.
If something goes wrong
- 401: the key is missing, mistyped or revoked. Check the header value starts with
Bearer. - 403: the workspace isn't on the Agency plan.
- 404: the brand ID is wrong, or the key is limited to another brand.
- 429: too many requests in a minute. Wait and refresh again.
