AI memory check

See what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini know about you with web search switched off, and what to do about the gap.

4 minPlan: Growth, Pro and Agency

What it is

Your weekly analysis asks AI assistants your buyer questions with web search on, the way most people use them today. The AI memory check asks the same Discovery questions to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with web search off. The answer then comes only from what each model learned when it was trained.

That matters because:

  • many people use AI with search off, or on free versions that search less;
  • what a model remembers lasts for months, while search results change every week;
  • being remembered is a sign that the web talks about you widely, not just on one page.

Run your first check

  1. Open your brand and click AI memory in the menu.
  2. Make sure you track at least one Discovery question (the memory check uses those).
  3. Click Run memory check. It costs 1 token per question per assistant (for example, 12 questions × 3 assistants = 36 tokens) and takes a few minutes.
  4. Tick Run it every month automatically if you want it to repeat automatically, the day after your weekly analysis.

Read the results

At the top you see three numbers:

  • AI remembers you: how often you're recommended with search off (your memory score).
  • AI finds you: the same from your latest weekly analysis, with search on.
  • The gap: the difference. A big gap means you rely on AI searching the web.

Below, every question is put into a group:

GroupMeaningWhat to do

FragileFound when AI searches, forgotten when it doesn'tGet mentioned on more sites

You also see the score by assistant, and a history of checks. When a model changes version, the check is marked new model, so you know a jump may come from the model, not from you.

How to improve your memory score

Models learn from what lots of websites say about you. The best ways in are press, podcasts, industry lists, awards, directories and reviews, plus clear pages on your own site that say what you do and for whom. Changes show up slowly, as new model versions are released, so check monthly rather than weekly.
